Swedish pork meatballs *

A favourite of our household. A comforting dish and easy to cook, what could be better? Gastronomy at your fingertips !



Ingredients (meatballs)

  • 1 1/2 lb ground pork

  • 4 slices crumbled white bread (without crusts)

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 egg

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Ingredients (sauce)

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 3 tbsp flour

  • 1 1/2 cup beef broth

  • 1/2 cup 35% cooking cream

  • 1 tsp dijon mustard

Preparation


Preheat the oven to 450°F and place the grill in the middle.

Pour the milk over the bread and soak for about 5 minutes.

Add the pork, egg, onion, garlic powder and nutmeg.

Mix well.

Shape the meatballs and place on a lightly oiled baking sheet.

Oil the meatballs with a brush.

Cook for about 20 minutes or until the meatballs are golden brown.


In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the flour and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Whisk in the broth, cream and mustard.

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Reduce for 3 minutes

Add the meatballs.
